H. Friskas – šiuolaikinės ir improvizacinės muzikos kūrėjas, pedagogas, nagrinėjantis muzikos ir interaktyvumo santykį. Per savo karjerą yra Europos, Šiaurės Amerikos bei Azijos šalių scenose, pasirodęs tokiuose festivaliuose kaip „Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival“ ar „Montreux Jazz Festival“;
Maggi Olin – pianistė bei kompozitorė, kurią išgarsino bendradarbiavimas su tautiečiu bosistu Davidu Carlssonu;
P. Nilssonas – vienas graibstomiausiu Švedijos būgnininkų. Jo organiškas ir delikatus grojimas girdimas kolektyvuose: „Plunge“, „The Opposite“, Loïc‘o Dequidto trio ir kvartete , Cecilia Persson sekstete, Raino Sultanovo grupėje ir t.t.
„expEAR“ talkinsiąs D. Gressas – džiazo scenos veteranas. Iš Niudžersio kilęs kontrabosininkas kompozicijos mokėsi pas netradicinius metrus propagavusį Hanką Levy. D. Gressas žinomas dėl puikių gebėjimų komponuoti muziką didelės apimties ansambliams. Ne vieną garbų apdovanojimą pelnęs kūrėjas per savo karjerą yra grojęs su tokiomis asmenybėmis kaip Jacku DeJohnette, Timu Berne, Kenny Wollesenu, Uri Caine, Ravi Coltraine, Steve‘u Colemanu, Fredu Herschu ir daugeliu kitų. 2004 m. „BBC“ radijas bei leidinys „The Guardian“ D. Gresso kvarteto radijuje transliuotą koncertą pripažino geriausių metų džiazo koncertu.

expEAR is formed out of the two words expression/explore and hear/ear. It is a dynamic group with Henrik Frisk, Maggi Olin and Peter Nilsson as its core. Guests will be invited to explore, listen and interact. Some of the goals of expEAR are to learn more about ways in which we as musicians and as group can develop, how improvised music can develop and communicated among us, and how it can be communicated to listeners.

Bassist/composer Drew Gress performs extensively with artists on the cutting edge of contemporary improvised music. His latest project-The Irrational Numbers (Premonition), features Drew original compositions for quintet. Earlier releases include the critically-acclaimed 7 Black Butterflies (2005), Spin & Drift (2001), and Heyday (1997). Future projects include a new quintet project, a solo bass recording, and an electronics projectȳoon to be unveiled.
Drew can also be heard within the ensembles of John Abercrombie, Ralph Alessi, Tim Berne, Don Byron, Uri Caine, Bill Carrothers, Ravi Coltrane, Marc Copland, Mark Feldman, Fred Hersch, John Hollenbeck, Tony Malaby, and John Surman.

Henrik Frisk (PhD) is an active performer (saxophones and laptop) of improvised and contemporary music and a composer of acoustic and computer music. With a special interest in interactivity, most of the projects he engages in explores interactivity in one way or another. Interaction was also the main topic for his artistic PhD dissertation `Improvisation, Computers, and Interaction’ which was presented at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University in October 2008.
Henrik has performed in many countries in Europe, North America and Asia including performances at prestigious festivals such as the Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival, NYC and the Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland. As a composer he has received commissions from many institutions, ensembles and musicians. He has made numerous recordings for American, Canadian, Swedish and Danish record labels and is currently a member of the collective Kopasetic Productions which is an independent label owned and run by improvising musicians.

Maggi Olin is a pianist, composer and band leader with long experience, currently living in Malmö, Sweden. She has several groups that she works with of which David’s Angels is worth mentioning considering the success they have had in recent years.
Peter Nilsson has established himself as one of the most in-demand drummers in Sweden. His varied and organic playing can be heard in many constellations, including Plunge, The Opposite, Loïc Dequidt Trio/Quartet, Cecilia Persson Sextet, lim, Anders Nilsson’s AORTA and Rain Sultanov Group.
